MANSFIELD, OHIO. Renaissance Performing Arts has canceled all December events amidst the rising numbers of Covid-19 throughout the community. Although the Renaissance has a thorough safety plan in place for its patrons, performers, volunteers, and staff, it believes these cancellations are in the best interest of the community.
The events affected by the cancellation are the film screening of Polar Express on December 6, Winter Wonderland Showcase on December 12, and the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops concert on December 19 and 20. Ticketholders for canceled shows will be contacted directly by the Box Office to arrange alternative options for their purchase.
Renaissance President, Chelsie Thompson, stated, "As heartbreaking as it is to forgo these events that are deep holiday traditions for so many, our community comes first and this is the best way that we can do our part in this once-in-a-lifetime year." When asked about future programming, Thompson commented, "We still want to bring joy to our community even if we can't do it in person, so we have a little holiday magic up our sleeves still. Stay tuned!"
The Renaissance is in planning for upcoming virtual events, which will be announced on the Renaissance website at www.RenTickets.org and social media platforms. For questions, or updates, please visit the Renaissance Facebook page, @RenTheatre, or contact the Box Office at 419-522-2726.
