Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Pawlikowski was shot by a subject whom he and Deputy Justin Ady were asked to check on at 1116 Lexwood Road at 11:16 p.m., Thursday. Deputy Ady returned fire. The two deputies at the scene as well as the shooting suspect, Craig Wright, were transported to OhioHealth Mansfield. Craig Wright died from his injuries.
A search warrant was prepared, signed and executed for the residence. The Sheriff requested the Ohio Bureau of Investigation and Identification to process the scene and conduct an investigation into the shooting.
Both deputies were placed on administrative leave for 8 days per policy.
