On November 30, 2020, the METRICH Enforcement Unit, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, and ASORT executed search warrants at both 296 and 294 Grace St.
The focus of these warrants was on Danny L. Brown, B/M/41, and his illegal activities; which involve trafficking in narcotics and receiving stolen property. During the search of 296 Grace St, METRICH Detectives located over nine(9) ounces of suspected crack cocaine, over 300 suspected Percocet, and other miscellaneous drugs. Also seized were a loaded 40 Calibur Smith and Wesson handgun and $14,669.00 in U.S. currency. The narcotics carried a street value of over $40,000.00
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Department also located a large amount of stolen property at the same address. Subsequently, Mr. Brown was incarcerated at the Richland County Jail on charges of F1 trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, F2 trafficking in Schedule II narcotics, possession of Schedule II narcotics, and weapons under disability.
METRICH Commander Lt. Jason Bammann stated that again it was the tips received from the community, the daily work from detectives, and the collaboration between METRICH and the Richland County Sheriff's Department that ultimately removed a career criminal from the streets of our community.
The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to seek those that pollute our streets with narcotics and Lt. Bammann encourages all citizens to continue reporting suspected drug activity.
