Ontario Schools 5 Year Forecast Shows Deficits Due To Cut In State Funding

Ontario school district treasurer Randy Harvey’s 5 year forecast shows some deficits.

RichlandSource.com reports, the district will spend more than it brings in due to state funding being cut by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The district according to Harvey is in solid financial shape thanks to the recent passing of the levy. Harvey said had the levy not of passed, there would be a real chance the school district would not exist, that’s how close we were.

Harvey said if Ontario residents pass levies in 2022 and 2024, the district should stay out of the red.
