AU Board Extends President Campo’s Contract Through May 31, 2024

ASHLAND, Ohio – TheAshlandUniversityBoard of Trustees has voted unanimously to extend the contract of President Carlos Campo through May 31, 2024. 

“The Board of Trustees is grateful for the leadership of Dr. Campo during the last five years,” said Board of Trustees Chair Jim Hess. “Dr. Campo has movedAshlandUniversityforward through challenging times. We fully expect he will continue to lead theuniversityin providing a transformative educational experience for all students.”

Campo began his term as the 30th president ofAshlandUniversityon June 1, 2015.

Prior to that, he had worked as an educational consultant for the Gates Foundation and served as chair of the Alliance for Hispanic Education for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership. Campo also previously served as first as chief academic officer and provost and later president of RegentUniversityand was chief academic officer and dean of the College of Arts and Letters at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas.

Of the contract extension, Campo said, “Karen (his wife) and I are grateful to the Board of Trustees for their continued support of our leadership here atAshlandUniversity. We also thank our leadership team for their fine work, our family, friends and donors for support, and look forward to serving our students in the years to come.”
