An Ashland Man sustained serious injuries in a crash on Tuesday afternoon in Erie County.56-year-old James Buhl was traveling south on S.R. 60 when his vehicle went left of center, striking a vehicle operated by Lana Born of Wakeman.
The vehicle continued off the east side of the road and overturned multiple times before coming to final rest. Buhl was life flighted to Cleveland Metro Hospital. Born sustained minor injuries as did a second passenger and both were treated at the scene but a third passenger, 28-year-old Michael Garcia of Wakeman was trapped inside of Born’s vehicle and was extricated by mechanical means and also sustained serious injuries.
Garcia was also taken to Cleveland Metro Hospital via life flight. According to the press release from the post, drugs and/or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
