We are learning more about the recent COVID-19 outbreak at the Mansfield Correctional Institution, where earlier this week 25 inmates tested positive.
According to Richland County Commissioner Marilyn John, all 25 inmates that tested positive were recently transferred to the Mansfield prison, however, prior to being moved to Mansfield had all tested negative for the coronavirus.
None of the inmates who tested positive have had to be hospitalized. Over 70 are currently in quarantine, while 28 are in isolation. A total of 37 inmates were transferred to Mansfield and 25 later tested positive for the coronavirus.
