The Coronavirus outbreak has gotten worse at the Richland Correctional Institution. According to RichlandSource.com, 48 inmates at the prison now have tested positive for COVID-19. That's a 71% increase from last week, where were just 28 inmates that tested positive for coronavirus.
The Richland Correctional Institution has more than 2,300 inmates and just over 2,100 were put into quarantine, while 66 were placed into isolation.
Last week over a 5 day stretch from Wednesday to Sunday, the Mansfield Fire Department transported 17 inmates locally to the hospital.
