Mansfield Water Meter Replacement Project Won't Be Done Until Later In 2021

Mansfield's water meter replacement project has been underway for the last couple of months.

The project, which will see all water meters in the city replaced, had a bit of a delay due to the pandemic.

The original plan had hoped to see all the meters install by the end of the year, but will now not finish up until sometime in 2021.

There are more than 18,000 meters to install and around 2,000 have been completed so far.

Mansfield City Council President Cliff Mears said they are increasing from 7 to 10 crews to install the meters, which right now are working on commercial businesses and hope to wrap up those by November.

All the crews are COVID-19 compliant with masks and following the proper protocols.
