Retired Richland County Sheriff Detective Honored By Attorney General

A retired Sergeant from the Richland County Sheriff's Department was honored this week by the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

RichlandSource.com reports, Detective Matt Mayer, who spent more than 25 years with the Sheriff's Department, received the 2020 Ohio Distinguished Law Enforcement Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mayer, during his career, spent time in the crime lab, worked as a dispatcher, patrolman, corrections officer and detective.

Mayer was 1 of 9 officers statewide to be honored by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.
