Walk to End Alzheimer's held over the weekend

September is World Alzheimer’s month.Mansfield residents took part in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.Participants were asked to walk as individuals or in small groups in neighborhoods, trails and parks instead of assembling in a large crowd.

According to Carl Hunnell at Richland Source, the event also featured a Promise garden which was set up at the corner of Cook and Dickson parkway that has various colors of flowers that represent people’s connections to the disease.More than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, a number projected to rise to nearly 14 million in the next 30 years and is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.
