Mansfield City Council To Vote on $35 Million Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

Mansfield City Council is expected to vote Tuesday ( tonight) on the $35 million in upgrades to its water treatment plant.

Council is also set to vote in the proposed water rate increase. Both of which are EPA mandates, according to RichlandSource.com

Conditions at the city's water treatment plant have been called "dire" by Public Works Director David Remy.

City Engineer Bob Bianchi said the city needs to replace 40 to 60 miles of city water lines that are aging. In total, Mansfield has more than 300 miles of water lines and some are more than 100 years old.
