A Madison student was taken to the juvenile detention center after assaulting a high school principal.
The Richland Sheriff's Office report says the 16 year old student was running around the school and threatening to hurt people. The student, who was not listening to principal Sean Conway's orders to stay in the classroom, punched Conway 10 times in the face, giving him a black eye.
The student also attempted to bite the arm and hand of the Sheriff's deputy and tried to break the windows of the deputy's car by hitting his handcuffs on the window.
The incident happened on Monday and remains under investigation.
