BOE Rejects Challenge Against Mansfield Law Directors Residency

A challenge regarding the voting residency of Mansfield's Law Director has been rejected by the Richland County Board of Elections.

RichlandSource.com reports that a challenge was filed claiming that Law Director John Spon lives at a residence in Lexington, but is registered to vote from an address in Mansfield.

Spon denied the allegation, saying he has lived at his current Mansfield address since 2010, which was two years prior to being elected as law director.

The board heard from 10 witnesses over a two hour period before unanimously making the motion to dismiss the challenge.

Spon, who is in his final term as Law Director, said he looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Mansfield.
