Mansfield City Council this week approved the purchase of 3 COVID-19 police cruisers from the Ford Motor Company for the Mansfield Police Department.
Council President Cliff Mears said the new police cruisers will be delivered soon to the Mansfield Police Department. They have the option to turn up the heat to 133 degrees, if someone could be infected with COVID-19. That temperature Mears said is believed to kill the virus.
The money used is part of the $1.7 million dollars in COVID-19 relief the city received from the Federal government.
