Ashland Highway Patrol Troopers Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Montgomery Township – The Ashland Highway Patrol Post is investigating a one vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred Sunday at approximately 13:57 P.M. The crash happened on U.S. Route 42, near Township Road 653. Cade Strickland, 68, of Medina, Ohio, was southbound on a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Cade Strickland was accompanied by a rider on the motor cycle, Patricia Strickland, 68, also of Medina, Ohio. Strickland drove off the right side of the roadway, striking a driveway access. After striking the driveway access, both occupants were ejected from the motorcycle. Cade Strickland was transported to Ashland Samaritan and then transported to Akron City Hospital. Patricia Strickland succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Drugs and Alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the traffic crash. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The traffic crash remains under investigation. The Ashland Post of the Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland Fire/Ems and Gibb’s Towing.
