This year's Richland County Fair will be closed to the public.
Fair board president Gary Blum told WMAN on Wednesday afternoon that the fair board made the decision following the announcement this week from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine that rides, games and grandstand events were now prohibited at county fairs across the state.
The Richland County Fair will just feature junior fair events and will take place Sunday, August through Friday, August 14th.
Blum said the goal is to have the animals off the fairgrounds by Thursday evening, August 13th and then hold the Auction on Friday, August 14th. Anyone who bought a daily pass to the fair can get a refund through the board office.
