Ohio is working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other local organizations to check water samples for COVID-19. Scientists say fragments of the virus can be found in the feces of people who are symptomatic or asymptomatic. They'll be collected from several of the municipal sewage and wastewater plants in the state. The Ohio EPA says research shows the virus can be detected in sewage at least three days before there are increases in case numbers or hospitalizations.
