Ashland Fair Board Takes No Action On Petition To Ban Confederate Flag

The Ashland County Fair Board took no action Monday, after it reviewed a request from a petition, which gathered just shy of a 1,000 signatures, calling for a ban on displaying or selling the confederate flag at the Ashland County Fair later this year.

Fair Manager Steve Englet, told RichlandSource.com, "The fair board decided, we're not about politics, we're here to put on a fair."

Englet said, in his 10 years as manager, he has not seen the display or selling of the flag. If he sees it in September during the fair, he would ask it be removed without making a spectacle out of it.

The Ashland County Fair takes place September 20th - 26th.
