Ohio To Allow Sports To Resume Competitions With Restrictions

Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted are issuing a new order paving the way for full and non-contact sports to resume. On Tuesday, DeWine and Husted announced that competitions for all sports would be able to resume on a short-term basis if teams agree to COVID-19 guidelines. Teams must test all players, coaches, trainers, staff, and officials, conduct daily symptom assessments, require everyone not playing to wear a face-covering whenever possible and social distance on sidelines or in dugouts. DeWine is also launching a new Hashtag-I-Want-A-Season social media campaign asking players to promote masks and other COVID-19 health and safety measures.
