Cavaliers Hoping To Re-Sign Tristan Thompson For Next Season

The Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping to re-sign Tristan Thompson for next season despite the addition of two-time All-Star Andre Drummond. The Cavs are in the group of NBA teams known as the Delete Eight, who were left out of the return-to-play scenario and can now focus on the off-season ahead of the rest of the league.Sources say the Cavs will try to retain Thompson for one more year and allow him to hit free agency in 2021.Thompson had asked to be traded last season before the deadline, but no deal came, and the current pandemic and the chaos it has caused may have changed Thompson's mind about staying at least one more year.
