OCIE Hill Not Reopening due to staff reductions and COVID-19

The City of Mansfield says the Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center will not be re-opening.

Mayor Tim Theaker and Parks and Recreation Manager Mark Abrams said they are sorry to announce that the building can not reopen due to staff reductions and COVID-19 requirements.

It was announced this past winter, that the Ocie Hill Neighborhood Center is scheduled to close on September 1st.

Mansfield City Council President Cliff Mears said the building is in need of a new boiler and several upgrades, which would cost over $1 million.

A plan is in the works to move the tenants to a different location.
