In Ashland, city council this week, took another step in the process to add a 2nd fire station.
RichlandSource.com reports, council passed legislation to enter into a contract for design building services with Simonson Construction at a cost of nearly $151,000.
Ashland mayor Matt Miller said by the time this phase is complete, we'll know exactly what we're building on a blueprint.
Ashland's new fire station will be located at the intersection of US 42 and Mifflin Ave. Ground breaking on the project is expected to happen this fall.
