Ohio Could Designate Racism Public Health Crisis

Ohio could designate racism as a statewide public health crisis. Representative Juanita Brent issued a statement today calling for a policy that addresses racial equality in the Buckeye State. Among other things, the resolution would incorporate educational efforts to dismantle racism and promote policies that prioritize the health of people of color. The Franklin County Board of Health declared racism a public health crisis last month, and several other communities are looking at similar proposals.
