Body Pulled From Kokosing River In Mount Vernon

The body of a deceased man was pulled from the Kokosing River on Sunday, according to RichlandSource.com.

Mount Vernon Police said officers and fire fighters were called to the river around 1:40 in the afternoon, after kayakers saw the person caught in a downed tree in the river.

Firefighters were able to pulled the body from the water, which was then transported to the Licking County Coroner's office for an autopsy. The identification of the person has not yet been released.

Last summer, two people drowned in the Kokosing river, a 40 year old man from Mount Vernon and 15 year old boy from Columbus.
