Ashland County receives confirmation of 22nd positive test for coronavirus

The Ashland County Health Department (ACHD) received confirmation of the 20th, 21st and 22nd positive laboratory test results for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Ashland residents.

Ohioans are urged to practice precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These precautions include: practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering, staying home when sick, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and washing hands often.

To minimize the risk of infecting healthcare workers, individuals should call ahead before seeking medical care to discuss symptoms. COVID-19 symptoms can include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, diarrhea, vomiting, conjunctivitis, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell.

· Case #5 on April 10, 2020

· Case #7 on April 27, 2020

· Case #8 on April 30, 2020

· Case #9 on May 1, 2020

· Case #10 on May 4, 2020

· Case #11 on May 6, 2020

· Case #12 on May 6, 2020

· Case #13 on May 7, 2020

· Case #14 on May 7, 2020

· Case #15 on May 9, 2020

· Case #16 on May 9, 2020

· Case #17 on May 11, 2020

· Case #18 on May 20, 2020

· Case #19 on May 20, 2020

· Case #20 on May 23, 2020

· Case #21 on May 26, 2020

· Case #22 on May 27, 2020

Of the 22 positive cases, 17 individuals have recovered, three are recovering, and two are hospitalized. ACHD is currently working with over 60 individuals who have been exposed to COVID-19.
