Ashland City Council this week established a special fund for COVID-19 relief, according to RichlandSource.com.
Ashland finance director Larry Paxton said the move allows the city to quickly begin depositing federal and state money to assist the city during the pandemic.
He went on to say some of the funds may have to be used by a certain date or have to be returned.
Ashland says it's monitoring expenses related to employees, who had to take time off due to COVID-19 and is tracking, what it's had to spend on sanitizer and PPE items.
