Mansfield Modifies Order Eliminating Overtime Within Fire Department

The city of Mansfield has modified it's order that is eliminating overtime within the fire department, according to Richland Source.com.

The move ensures that only 1 of Mansfield's 5 five stations would have to temporarily close, if personnel drops below a certain level.

Mansfield Safety-Services Director Lori Cope says this means that fire station 4 will remain open, while station 2 on Brookwood way could temporarily close, if staffing falls below 16 on a given day.

Mayor Tim Theaker and his administration made the move to cut OT in the fire department, due to the pandemic, which has forecasted Mansfield's revenue to drop by around 20%.
