The Shelby police department is looking to upgrade body camera's for its officers.
RichlandSource.com reports, Shelby city council this week approved to apply for a grant through the Bureau of Justice.
Shelby police chief Lance Combs said to replace the failed camera's would cost $10,000, but the grant would cover half of that cost.
The department would like to see a total upgrade to its camera system, but that would cost $100,000 and due to the pandemic, is not something that can happen right now.
