Governor DeWine Announces Budget Cuts To Education And Medicaid

Governor Mike DeWine says he will need to make budget cuts to both Education and Medicaid because of the coronavirus pandemic. DeWine said yesterday that the changes would need to be significant to help alleviate the economic downturn, and it was a difficult and unpleasant decision to make. The 775-million dollars budget reduction in the general revenue fund will come over the next two-months. Estimates put Medicaid spending to be reduced by 220-million, and K-12 and Higher Learning to lose 410-million, with the final 155-million coming from across the rest of the budget.
