Investigation into child abuse case leads to arrest of Mansfield couple

On April 25 th, 2020 the Mansfield Division of Police took a report from a custodial relative concerning suspicious and appalling injuries involving a 7 year old juvenile. The ensuing investigation led to a search warrant which was executed, with the assistance of patrol officers, on a residence in the 100 block of E. 1st Street.

After speaking to detectives, both were incarcerated at the Richland County Jail on the felony warrants. Mr. Henning was, also, found to be on probation for felony Domestic Violence in reference to a different case. The 7 year old victim was left in the care of hospital personnel, where they were being treated, following the incident.

This investigation is ongoing and has involved Richland County Children Services, Richland County Probation, the Reynoldsburg Police Department and the Columbus Police Department; all of whom have assisted Major Crimes Detectives during the initial investigation. No additional information is being released at this time.
