Ashland City Council Approves Improvements To Waste Water Treatment Plant

Ashland City Council has approved more than a half a million dollars toward improvements to its Waste Water Treatment plant.

RichlandSource.com reports, council approved just shy of $543,000 this week for modifications to the plant.

The project will include replacing two inground sludge storage tanks, which will hold 243,000 gallons, compared to the current tanks, which hold 84,000 gallons.

Ashland mayor Matt Miller said the total cost of the upgrades to the plant are $3.8 million dollars. The original estimated was more than $5 million dollars.

Miller said the project should be complete by next April.
