Lexington will have a new superintendent later this summer, as Mike Ziegelhofer recently announced that he is retiring. Ziegelhofer has spent a total of 32 years with the district, with more than 20 years as Superintendent.

The Lexington board of education this week voted to hire Jeremy Secrist as the district new superintendent. Secrist spent 5 years as the high school principal and the last 3 years as the assistant superintendent. He told RichlandSource.com that the position is " the dream job" and said Lexington has an amazing school district.

Secrist will officially take over on August 1st.
