In Ashland County, the commissioners in early April approved to buy the former Pump House Ministries office building on Orange St. in Ashland.
RichlandSource.com reports the move was made, despite concern from the county auditor and prosecutor on the purchase during COVID-19.
Commissioners Michael Welch and Denny Bittle called it a forward thinking move, while commissioner Jim Justice opposed the move, with concerns on the timing and ongoing costs to the building. The 44,000 square foot building was purchased for just over $145,000.
