The Richland County Foundation has relaunched Richland Gives.
The Foundation believes that generosity has the power to unite and heal communities in good times and bad. A global threat like COVID-19 affects more than just the infected. It is a time to come together to drive a spike of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for our community and nonprofits in Richland County.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Richland County Foundation Board of Trustees will relaunch the Richland Gives giving platform Tuesday, April 14 to help nonprofits raise operating revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We know many nonprofit organizations are experiencing financial difficulties. Richland Gives traditionally is held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. However, many charities need money now to deliver on their missions. The Foundation will pay the four percent Mighty Cause platform fee. During this special edition of Richland Gives, donors only will be assessed a credit card fee of 2.99% plus .30 cents per transaction. The Foundation also will run an advertising campaign to support the fundraising effort.
The Richland Gives COVID-19 Relief effort will run from April 14 to May 5. Nonprofits that participated in the December 2019 Richland Gives are automatically registered. If a nonprofit new to Richland Gives wants to participate contact Maura Teynor atmteynor@rcfoundation.org.
May 5 will be a global day of giving organized by the #GivingTuesday organization to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
