State Health Director Dr. Amy Acton is echoing a federal recommendation pertaining to homemade face coverings. On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention urged the public to make their own face masks as a means of reducing the transmission of COVID-19.
Dr. Acton voiced her support for that strategy, noting that homemade, cloth face coverings such as ripped-up T-shirts, bandannas and other non-medical masks could help reduce the rate of coronavirus transmission. Meanwhile, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine says he'll be wearing a face mask any time he's out in public.
