University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center To cancel elective surgeries

As a trusted, responsible health care system, UH Samaritan Medical Center is committed to joining health care providers across the nation to respond to Governor Mike DeWine’s declaration on March 18. UH Samaritan Medical Center is canceling non-essential surgeries and procedures. This helps ensure we minimize any risk of exposure to our staff, providers and the community. It also helps preserve and manage our supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)as we continue to care for our Ashland community.

Our providers value the physician-patient relationship and will work together with the patient to make the best decisions on a case-by-case basis. We are currently working with our providers to ensure notifications to our patients are being made. Every patient is important to us and we are committed to ensuring their specific care requirements are met in the most compassionate and safest way possible.
