A proposal was made this week to Mansfield City Council to turn Diamond Street downtown - from one way to two way traffic. This is in the very early stages and just has been discussed.
According to Council President Cliff Mears, the plan would to turn diamond to two way traffic from 1st street to where it meets Main St. at St. Rt 13. The plan would have new signals, signs and landscaping. If approved, work would start in May and be complete by sometime around August. The total cost would be $360,000. There will be a public hearing the matter on Feb. 11th.
