Ontario City Council is looking for council members to fill two seats. According to richlansource.com, Mark Weidemyre, third ward council member, announced his retirement at the Dec. 4 meeting; Larry Arnold, council member at large, announced his resignation at the Dec. 18 meeting. Since both men were elected as republicans the central committee of the Richland County Republican Party is in charge of appointing members to fulfill the duration of their respective terms. A meeting for Jan. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Waterford at Mansfield, interviews with the candidates will be held in private session, but the vote will be open to the public.
