The Mansfield Division of Police and Mansfield Fire Department will be escorting the #9 state ranked Mansfield Senior High School Tygers football team out of the city on Thursday December 5th as they leave for their State Championship game in Canton, Ohio against#7 state ranked Trotwood-Madison High School this Friday, December6th. Kick-off is set for 3PM at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The escort will leave Mansfield Senior High School at 124N.Linden Road at approximately 1:30PM and travel east on West 4th Street to N. Diamond Street. The escort will continue northbound on N. Diamond Street to E. Longview Avenue where it will then merge onto Route 30 eastbound. It will continue eastbound to the city limits.The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Richland County Sheriff’s Office has asked to be a part of this historic play-off run and will continue the escort to the county lines.
Upon returning from the State Championship game, the team buses will be escorted through the city and back to Arlin Field. The returning route will travel south onto N. Main Street (SR 13) and continue up N. Main Street to Park Avenue West (The Square) at which time the escort will turn westbound onto Park Avenue West and continue toTrimble Road where it will turn north bound onto Trimble Road and end at Arlin Field.
The team is expected to return approximately 2 hours after the end of the game(sometime between 7PM- 8:30PM).
