Camp Mowana on Fleming Falls Road has been purchased by the Richland County Park District. The land is being purchased from Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio. Richlandsource.com reports that, funding for the purchase, set at just over 2 million dollars comes from the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund and a donation from Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio. The area will become known as Fleming Falls Preserve, owned and managed by the Richland County Park District. Fleming Falls Preserve will provide interactive park opportunities, including wildlife watching, hiking, and outdoor education in Richland County.
