According to early predictions the new Mansfield mayor could be determined by one fourth of the population. It is predicted that only 25 percent of voters will show up because of no national or statewide races. Richland County Board of Elections director Paulette Hankins, tells richlandsource.com that she thinks "The townships with not many races and no county-wide issues will bring the totals down." Early voting and absentee voting for Tuesday's election continues to lag behind 2015's totals. Shannon Johnson director of the Ashland County Board of Elections predicts less than 30 percent of voters across the county will cast a ballot.
