Ashland Public Transit Will Soon Offer More Rides

Because of a new grant, Ashland Public Transit will soon be able to offer more rides. The grant will also fund a new full -time driver in the coming year. According to richlandsource.com, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced nearly $105 million in statewide grants for public transit, including $540,907 for Ashland Public Transit. The sum comes from the combination of $373,035 in federal dollars and $ 167,872 in state funding. In addition to adding a full-time driver, the grant will allow a wage increase for the drivers and dispatchers.
