MVNU Volleyball Coach Pleads Not Guilty To Charges

Mount Vernon Nazarene University volleyball coach Paul Swanson pleaded not guilty yesterday on a charge that he sexually victimized an elderly woman. According to richlandsource.com, Swanson appeared in Knox County Common Pleas Court with his attorney, Jonathon Spaulding, as well as several friends and family members. The fourth-degree felony charge against Swanson, stems from an alleged incident on Sept. 21 at a local nursing home. If Swanson is found guilty, She faces a potential sentence of six to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. He is a longtime volleyball coach and physical education professor at MVNU. Swanson has been placed on administrative leave by the university.
