At Tuesday’s Ashland City Council meeting, Council unanimously approved an ordinance authorizing the mayor and director of public service to enter a contract modification for services relating to the estimated $2.4 million US-250, I-71 water and sewer extension project. Richlandsource.com reports that the plans are to extend utilities beneath Interstate-71 in an effort to encourage development on the east side of Ashland. There has been two modifications to the project. The extension will have a shorter distance and have less direct oversight from the engineer’s office.
