A new dog shelter in Ashland will begin construction in spring of 2020. Homeward Bound Shelter will be located on Baney Road across from the grass parking lot of the Ashland County Fairgrounds. According to richlandsource.com, Construction was to begin in November but due to rumors of a rough winter this year, it has been delayed until this spring. The building will feature more than 65 kennels, indoor and outdoor recreational areas for the dogs as well as several other amenities.
