Friends of the late Mansfield News Journal columnist Ron Simon have started a fundraising campaign to replace the bench placed on Mount Jeez in his memory. Retired News Journal editor Tom Brennan told RichlandSource.com the funds would go toward replacing the recently-defaced bench, as well as providing improved security in the area to prevent further such incidents. Checks may be made to the Malabar Farm Foundation--4050 Bromfield Road, Lucas, Ohio, 44843--with a note that the money should be used for the new Simon bench.
