The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Richland County and the Richland County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board will graduate the 24th class of law enforcement and first-time responders on Friday. CIT stands for “Crisis Intervention Team” and refers to a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the mental health community to help law enforcement officers handle incidents involving persons suffering with mental illness. Members of class #24 will participate in real life mental health scenarios presented by Mansfield Playhouse actors starting at 9 am followed by a graduation ceremony at 12:15 pm at the Mansfield Playhouse.
