Fees To Increase For Court-Appointed Attorneys In Richland County

Richland County Commissioners approved the first increase in fees for court-appointed attorneys in decades at a meeting with three Common Pleas Court judges. Attorneys will now receive $60 per hour of work outside the court, a $10 increase from their previous rate for such work and a match of their rate for in-court work. Commissioner Marilyn John told RichlandSource.com the increase will be reviewed in one year to evaluate its effect on the county's general fund.
