The city of Shelby hopes to have solar panels installed by December, after city council approved the legislation this week. RichlandSource.com reports the Shelby has entered an agreement with AEP for solar panels, which will convert light into energy. The site will be on 14 acres off of State street and cost the city around $195,000. The project is expected to save Shelby around $3 million over the next 10 years.
